There are many different theories on how to lose weight. Some may even think that it is impossible to lose weight and maintain the loss you have achieved. But we all know that if we want to lose weight and keep it off, the best way to reach your goal is through <A HREF="http://healthy-weight-loss-programs.com/10/natural-weight-loss/">natural weight loss</A>. Forget about all the fancy diets and expensive exercise equipment. Use your common sense and you will be able to lose weight and keep it off. But you do need one thing. Determination.<br />

The number of overweight people continues to grow at an alarming rate. It is becoming one of the most expensive health care concerns we are facing today. You would think we could figure this problem out, wouldn&#8217;t you? There&#8217;s something staring us right in the face and we don&#8217;t see it. No one seems to be concerned enough to lose weight. To me, the problem is as obvious as the nose on our face. It&#8217;s all about what the food industry is doing to us. They offer us processed foods loaded with fats, sugar and salt. They use chemicals to change our food. It is altered through additives such as flavors, flavor enhances, binders, colors, fillers, preservatives, stabilizers, etc. To make a long story short, we no longer eat natural food.                    <P><br />
Too much of the food we eat today is processed to the point that many of the nutrients are lost from it and this is having a devastating effect on our health. A diet exclusive in processed foods will almost certainly lead to disease such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, allergies, emphysema, stomach ulcers, premature aging, impotence, hypoglycemia and arthritis. These countless diseases exist because chemically-synthesized substances disrupt the biochemistry of hundreds of billions of microscopic living cells which make up the body. Some of these diseases cause weight gain and is another reason to lose weight.<br />
<P><br />
The advances made by science with regards to the foods we eat has certainly had advantages. But at the same time there have been disadvantages to some of these advances. Our bodies are designed to eat natural, raw foods; there&#8217;s no doubt about that. Raw foods contain beneficial enzymes and nutrients that are destroyed through processing. To be realistic though, there&#8217;s no way we could all eat only raw foods, but it is recommended that we eat as many fresh fruits and vegetables as possible. Eliminating all processed food is probably not going to happen for most of us. And weight loss will probably not happen to all of us. But approaching our weight problems with <A HREF="http://healthy-weight-loss-programs.com/10/natural-weight-loss-2/">natural weight loss</A> in mind may be the best way for many of us.<br />

For most of us to be successful at losing weight we have to make some changes in our lives. And one of these changes has to be  better food choices. When asked as to the reasons for the weight problem facing many in our society, one may get any number of answers. As adults we know how difficult it is to lose weight. Most children who need to lose weight probably do not have a good understanding of this issue. Even though people are aware of the dangers of weight loss pills and the effects that may occur, they are used by many. These weight loss pills have become popular and you can almost guarantee that you will be aware of someone who has tried them with success. The idea that a simple drug can change everything without the need to change the diet or sacrificing anything is very tempting. As a consequence, drug companies spend millions of dollars in research on <B>weight loss pill</B>s while consumers spend even more to buy the pills.<br />

Why do some in the medical profession think that problems can be solved with a simple pill? Even with the advances in medical technology, these drugs can still cause a lot of health related problems which can be unpleasant such as diarrhea and vomiting. Other harmful side effects such as tightness in the chest and urinary tract problems and fatal such as a stroke and an overdose of the diet pills can cause tremors, confusion, hallucinations, shallow breathing, renal failure even heart attack and convulsions.<br />

Gaining knowledge is one of the best ways to make changes in your life. Research and become informed. Although many people fail to do this, the best course of action before taking any type of pill is to check with your doctor as there are many factors that could contribute to any problems you experience but it does not stop even when you cease taking the pills. Weight loss today has become a science. To be successful it seems that you have to know what the latest research studies have uncovered and be able to apply this information to your daily routine. Gone are the days of using our common sense to lose weight. Common sense referring to eating the right foods, eating the proper amount of the foods we need and following a moderate exercise plan. Regardless, if you need to <A HREF="http://lose-weight-today.net/09/lose-weight-5/">lose weight</A> then you must do what works for you. If it means keeping abreast of the latest research, or just doing all the common sense things, if it works for you then that is what you need to do.<br />

There are so many theories as to the best way to <B>lose weight</B>. One of the most popular ways to lose weight is to choose foods according to their Glycemic Load (GL). All food has a glycemic index (GI) which is a qualitative measure that tells you whether the carbohydrate it contains is fast or slow releasing. The Glycemic Load tells you more about the effect that food will have on your weight, ie whether or not it will cause you to put on weight.<br />
If we are to believe that the most effective way to lose weight and keep it off is to by stabilizing your blood sugar and insulin response to food, then we need to pay attention to the ways to achieve this. Keeping the blood sugar balanced depends not only on what we eat but also when we eat it. We need to reduce the amount of carbohydrate in our diets. We also need choose foods/carbohydrates with a  low glycemic-load (GL), combine carbohydrates with protein and cut back on stimulants and stress.<br />
<P><br />
When following any weight loss plan, you must be confident that it is the right plan for you as well as a healthy plan. To <B>lose weight</B> on this diet it is important to make sure that you eat no more than 40 GL a day and at main meals you should eat low GL carbohydrates with protein rich foods. How a food is processed, prepared or cooked is a key element in the GL of a food and therefore the effect it will have on your blood sugar. If you eat spaghetti if example your blood sugar levels and your insulin levels will rise quite gently until the body produces insulin and then they drop. However if you eat white bread they will rise twice as high and then drops down much lower. It is the peaks that damage your arteries making them less responsive to insulin and the troughs that leave you tired and sleepy and craving carbohydrates and or stimulants. It is strange that two foods made of roughly the same flour can have such different effects on the body. This is probably due to the fact that bread is cooked for longer than spaghetti. Needless to say eating white bread will do nothing to help you to lose weight.<br />
<P><br />
It may sound a bit complicated but as you become more familiar with this information the clearer it becomes and easier to apply as you attempt to <B>lose weight</B>. The Glycemic Index levels to which different foods raise your blood sugar compared with the effect of pure glucose. The more complex the carbohydrate, the lower the GI, as it will take longer for the sugar to be broken down and released into the blood stream . For example apples and oats are slow releasing and raisins and puffed rice cereal are fast releasing. So the foods you choose to help you to lose weight should be from the Low Glycemic Index foods<br />
<P><br />
As with most things in life, there are some exceptions and so there is with using the Glycmic Index. There is one small problem with using just the GI score as you will find that certain foods such as carrots and chocolate have similar scores and clearly it would be foolish to choose the chocolate over the carrots if you want to avoid the blood sugar highs and lows and ultimately lose weight. The Glycemic Load (GL) is a far better way of predicting the right foods to eat as it is an indicator of what a given serving of food will do to your blood sugar. Remember that balancing your blood sugar and insulin is the only sure way to <A HREF="http://lose-weight-today.net/09/lose-weight-5/">lose weight</A> and keep it off.<br />

Many people have a defeatist attitude about weight loss. Past failures will undoubtedly take their toll, and the attitude that they are happy being overweight can become a cover up for an unhappy person who feels that they will never lose weight. The jolly fat person will convince themselves and the world that they are perfectly happy the way they are<br />

If you are serious about wanting to know <B>how to lose weight</B> it is worth making sure that you are properly organized before you begin. Here is a list of tips and hints that will help to ensure that you get off to a good start and give yourself the best chance to lose weight from the onset.<br />

1.	Make a list of the foods you will need for your diet and fill your store cupboard with the required foods so that they are ready at hand.<BR><br />
2. Buy fresh foods on the day you want to eat them for maximum nutritional value.<BR><br />

With all the scientific research being conducted on ways to <B>lose weight</B>, why is it that many people still don&#8217;t take the issue of weight loss seriously enough. What do some people need before they begin to realize that this concern is one of the most important issues facing our society today? Sadly enough, most people will not take it serious until it affects them directly. By this time it may be too late. Obesity is growing to epidemic proportions and more and more of our children are now deemed to be overweight. What is causing this epidemic and why, considering there is so much in the way of education, weight loss clubs, new dietary regimes, television programs, advise on healthy eating? But still the epidemic goes on and little success is being celebrated re reducing the number of obese and overweight individuals. Very few are able to lose weight and successfully maintain their weight loss<br />
<P><br />
If you are serious about losing weight then half of the battle is already won. Why? Because you are serious about it. At the end of the day if you really want to <A HREF="http://lose-weight-today.net/">lose weight </A>it can be done. For some it may be the most difficult thing you have ever attempted, but you can be successful. Just keep focused on why you have to lose weight.<br />

Here are a number of tips that you may be able to use to help you lose weight:<br />

Eat smaller portions<BR><br />
Eat more protein<BR><br />
Never eat carbohydrate without protein<BR><br />
Drink more water<BR><br />
Cut out any diet drinks or diet foods with additives and sweeteners<BR><br />

Join a slimming club<BR><br />

These may seem too simple, but in reality they are just some very simple changes you can make to your diet to help you to lose weight. To lose weight you don&#8217;t need to purchase the latest exercise equipment or try the latest fad diet. You only have to be sensible in the way you approach it.<br />

If it is this easy, it raises another question to be answered. Why are so many people struggling to lose weight? Why does it seem that there are more failures than success stories? There are many reasons for this including:-<br />

Slow metabolic rate<BR><br />
Lack of motivation<BR><br />
Emotional blocks (this is one of the mail reasons)<BR><br />
Unable to give up diet food especially diet drinks<BR><br />

If you are looking for an excuse as to why you can&#8217;t lose weight, pick one of the above. And stick to it, because if you keep changing your excuse your friends will catch on pretty quick. Given that there are numerous reasons why a regime to <B>lose weight</B> might fail miserably, what can be done to help these people?<br />

If you are not ready to accept help then you will not be successful in your weight loss efforts. Sometimes we have to accept that some people just can&#8217;t be helped. At the end of the day we all have to be prepared to take some responsibility for our own health, and being overweight is very much a health issue. Healthy eating starts in the home and it is vital that up and coming parents do what is necessary to change the trend of unhealthy eating patterns. Even if they themselves don&#8217;t eat a particularly healthy diet there is nothing to stop them form encouraging the children to eat sensibly.<br />

If our society continues on its current path, we are in danger of becoming a population of unhealthy individuals, with a large number of people who have a particular metabolic type also being overweight or obese as a result. It can very difficult for some people to <B>lose weight</B> so why not prevent that need by not becoming overweight in the first place.<br />

We all have various opinions as to what the reasons are for this situation and what can be done about it. My own personal view is that the food industry has got us over a barrel. It is in their interest that we become overweight so that they can sell us the various dietary foods to help us to <A HREF="http://lose-weight-today.net/">lose weight</A>. If there was no such thing as obesity and being overweight, the weight loss industry would be out of work. This may be a cynical view but it may also be truer than we care to think. So do yourself and your children a favor. Get educated on healthy eating and change the current trend before it is too late. Let&#8217;s make the need to lose weight a thing of the past not a thing of the present or the future<br />

Over the last couple of years, you have probably read about or seen various news reports that deal with the obesity epidemic that is affecting our society in general and our children in particular. With the growing number of children being diagnosed as obese it is imperative that they are helped to <B>lose weight</B> before they suffer life threatening diseases. One of the biggest concerns at the present time is that some overweight teenagers have severe liver damage caused by too much body fat. The condition, which can lead to cirrhosis and liver failure or liver cancer, is being seen in kids in the United States, Europe, Australia and even some developing countries, according to a surge of recent medical studies.<br />
<P><br />
Health professionals have differing theories on how to deal with this growing concern, but most will agree that the best place to begin to combat this problem is early intervention. It is possible to reverse the condition with a medical team working with the whole family, including liver and hormone specialists, a dietitian and counselors. These children have to lose weight and be taught how to eat nutritious meals that won&#8217;t endanger their health.<br />
<P><br />
There has been a significant shift in our society&#8217;s eating habits over the last twenty five years or so, and this is a contributing factor as to why we are seeing this epidemic of obese teenagers and young adults. Fast food chains and sedentary life styles are considered to be a big part of the problem. Better still when your baby is born spend the first 6 months finding out about how to give your child a healthy diet, when he/she is ready to be weaned. There is plenty of helpful advice available, it is just a matter of seeking it out. If your child needs to lose weight then it is up to you to act quickly to ensure it doesn&#8217;t become a life long habit and a chronic life threatening condition. Take an active role in helping your child lose weight.<br />

My husband found the split seat to be more comfortable for him, while I opted to keep my old gel seat. Someone has even invented seats that look more like a bird perch than a bicycle seat!

Think about your clothing...you don't have to have padded biker shorts and special clothing to to <A HREF="http://howto-loseweight.com/">lose weight</A> and start riding bikes. There are actually scientifically engineered fabrics designed to pull sweat away from your body in the summer and to keep you from getting hypothermia in the winter. But for now, just wear layers of comfortable sports clothes. Make sure your clothes aren't so tight that you are miserable trying to pedal. But they shouldn't be loose enough to become entangled in the bicycle chain, either! If you become overheated, strip off a layer. If you get cold, add a layer. Wear light or bright colors to allow drivers to see you easily.

I had the bike shop attach a water bottle holder to the bike under my seat. I can grab a quick swig as I ride or pour some water over my pulse points to cool off a bit. Take small sips of water when needed during your bike ride, rather than chugging huge gulps. Drink lots of water while exercising, <A HREF="http://tripowerteam.com">it is crucial</A>.

A helmet is almost a must. Life is filled with hazards-and biking has its share. Be smart. Wear a helmet. You can buy a cool rear-view mirror for your helmet. The mirror helps you see when it's safe to turn and lets you observe traffic coming up from behind.

I recommend wearing sunglasses-both for the sun and for bugs! At certain times of the year, the air is thick with flying insects. Getting a tiny bug in your eye is a excruciating event. In todays society, with so many advances being made in health and medicine, we are being faced with a very challenging problem. Obesity. It is fast becoming a world wide epidemic and with the constant message to lose weight everybody is looking for the latest fad diet. It is not surprising those &#8220;amazing lose weight in 7 days&#8221; diets are top of the hit parade<br />

With numerous experts and their varied opinions on how to lose weight, one can certainly become confused. There are so many questions being asked on the topic of weight loss. So what is the best way to lose weight? How can you lose weight fast? What are the latest diet tips? These kinds of questions are ever on the lips of those people who want to lose weight either for their health, or just to look good on the beach this summer.<br />
<P><br />
In reality, there are no easy answers or magic formulas to make you <B>lose weight</B>. None of the experts have yet come up with that magic wand, although some may lead you to believe they have. As most people can tell you, whatever diet you choose, there is going to be some deprivation, some sweat, and some plain old hard work if you want to achieve weight loss success. It is said that slimming diets are NOT the answer for permanent weight loss! Real success comes when you have learned a new way to eat.<br />

Our desire to <B>lose weight</B> and be healthier is so great that some of those promises of the latest miracle diet can be very tempting, but be on your guard and don&#8217;t part with you hard earned cash in exchange for a diet that at best won&#8217;t work, and at worst could harm you. You don&#8217;t have to pay a lot of money for a weight loss diet; to get started, why not try one of the many free online diets? That way, you can learn what works for you, and instead of losing money, you&#8217;ll lose your excess weight.<br />

To help yourself lose weight take some time and research the material available. Talk to others, ask questions and even speak to your doctor. There is an abundance of information on changing your eating habits. Instead of eating  3 big meals a day, try eating 5 smaller meals. I have also read cutting your portions down so you do not feel uncomfortable. If you eat in a restaurant, ask for a carry out container and save half your meal for the next day&#8217;s lunch. So, research on &#8220;how to eat&#8221; so you can be well informed with your efforts to properly lose weight.<br />

When people are trying to lose weight they are often very surprised when they are told by a friend that they look like they have added a few extra pounds. Not a nice thing to hear when you actually are trying to eat less. To help why not try eating more smaller meals throughout the day. Healthy snacking or if you prefer to call them &#8217;small meals&#8217; will make it easier to lose weight because the body needs regular fuel to speed up the metabolic process.<br />
<P><br />
You have to be sure that your smaller meals are just that: smaller. It is important to stress that &#8220;eat more&#8221; doesn&#8217;t mean eating very large meals that are laden with calories. Small nutritious meals more often is the key. If you are the sort of person who eats very large portions then this is one way for you to be successful with your effort to <B>lose weight</B>. Gradually start reducing the portions of the meals but at the same time increasing how often you eat. Five small meals a day is far better than three large meals<br />
<P><br />
Our bodies can digest smaller amounts of food more efficiently. Because there is less food to digest our bodies will digest quicker thus assimilating the nutrients more efficiently, giving ourselves more energy after the meal. Big meals make us sluggish and we fail to utilize a lot of the nutrition. For successful weight loss have some quick easy preplanned snacks. There are good selections of protein bars and health drinks, fresh fruit and keep fresh raw vegetables cleaned and cut up with a dip you like. Experiment with new foods, like a tofu dip with spices you like or maybe a hummous dip. If you have never tried it or didn&#8217;t use a good mix, find a new recipe and try again. Tofu is high in protein and has NO taste so it takes on the taste of whatever you add to it. It may take some getting use to but it is good in helping you <B>lose weight</B>.<br />

Another reason for eating smaller meals is the amount of fat taken into the body at each meal or snack. There is less potential energy in a small meal to be stored as fat. This of course gives you the opportunity to burn off excess fat and help you have a steady flow of weight loss.<br />

Eating smaller meals more often can sometimes be difficult because we are programmed to eat three times a day. And we also eat too many snacks in between. But with the concept of eating small meals and eating more often, you get triple benefits for your efforts. There will be fewer calories, increased metabolic rate and less chance of feeling bloated. You will lose weight.</p>
