Fast Weight Loss

The weight loss industry is growing as more and more people are becoming aware of the seriousness of being over weight. And many of these people are looking for a system that will give them fast weight loss. However, this is not always the best option. We can all lose weight fast and we usually put that weight back on just as fast! People have to realize that what they need is a change in lifestyle.

It is so important to make those changes in ones lifestyle that will result in losing weight as well as keeping it off. Failure to make the changes will ultimately result in the failure to keep the weight off. Once you get into the cycle of weight off – weight on, your body, not surprisingly, becomes confused. Once upon a time your body had a set point, a weight that was the norm for you. With repeated weight gain followed by weight loss followed by weight gain etc etc, your body is constantly changing that set point until it is at a higher rate than you would like it to be. It can then be very difficult to attain the weight loss you so desire. Your body plateaus and any further weight loss seems like an impossibility. When this happens we often we get frustrated and disheartened and give up on the weight loss diet thinking it isn’t working. This inevitably results in our weight starting to increase once again to an unacceptable level.

Your set point is very important in any weight loss plan. If you do not learn how to regulate this, it can lessen your chances of losing and maintaining any weight loss you achieve. So what can you do to re-regulate your set point? First and foremost, it is important to realize that you are going to have to be far more persistent in your approach to weight loss. One of the reasons you find it difficult to sustain your weight loss is because your adrenal glands have become exhausted. Very often when you have been on a weight loss diet month after month, perhaps not following a well structured diet, maybe cutting calories or missing meals or eating too many carbohydrates, your body is constantly in a fight or flight state. This situation will inevitably leave you tired confusing your metabolism and encouraging it to turn to stimulants such as tea, coffee, and diet drinks as a pick me up to compensate for what may well have been an energy deficient diet. Unfortunately this just activates the sympathetic nervous system to release more stress hormones which in turn requires more stimulants and so the cycle goes on and weight loss becomes less and less likely. This vicious circle can be almost impossible to break without professional help.

One thing there is no shortage of is weight loss plans. The market place is almost flooded with them. Some are excellent while others are nothing more than a way to waste your money. In my experience people who have been on a “not so healthy” fast weight loss diet will inevitably have lost some muscle as well as fat. As muscle burns energy this will not help your weight loss regime as a decreased muscle mass means a lower metabolic rate. Yet another vicious cycle your body has to find a way to break. This increases your chances gaining weight rather than losing weight and so the yoyo effect continues.

Most of us who want to lose weight actually need to lose weight. That is if we want to keep our health. Because of this fact weight loss is a serious issue for most of us. It is not something to “play” with. Your future health is dependant on you losing weight so take your diet seriously. If weight loss has been an issue for you for many years then it would be advisable to get the advice and support of a professional weight loss coach who can monitor your progress.

When all is said and done, fast weight loss is probably not the best plan. To remain healthy one must lose weight in a safe manner. At the end of the day health is the most important thing. There is no point in looking forward to early retirement and all the enjoyable things that freedom can bring if you haven’t got the health to make the most of them

Natural Weight Loss

Natural Weight Loss

Losing weight is no easy task. It takes time and personal commitment. However, if people want to achieve natural weight loss it will involve more than simply cutting back on your caloric intake. It will also require a change in your diet and to help with your weight loss, some exercise should also be a part of your regime.

The whole idea behind natural weight loss is not complicated, although it certainly can become complicated if we want it to be. But it is best to keep it simple. When we eat any food we are consuming calories and we also at the same time we burn up calories as we go through our daily routines. If our daily activities burn less calories than we take in, then we are going to gain weight. If we do not have enough physical activity in our normal routine of life, then we must find a way to burn more calories. Exercise is the most efficient way to do this. But exercise not only burns off calories as we are doing the exercising, it also has a very important after effect beneficial in anyones attempt to achieve weight loss.

Just how important is exercise? What makes it something that helps people lose weight? It is simple. Exercise raises the metabolism, the body’s mechanism for burning calories. What happens is that by raising our metabolism we not only burn more calories as we exercise, but the body continues to burn calories for a period even after we finish exercising. It’s like our body knows what is best for us, so it continues to work a little overtime to help us with weight loss. Exercise gives us that feel good factor, but it feels better knowing that our body’s continues to burn calories for a period after we have finished exercising.

Natural weight loss is the desired effect of most who want to trim some of the excess pounds they are carrying around. And if you are looking to achieve weight loss you need be concerned with muscle tissue and fat. The muscles in our bodies use up energy and burn off the calories/fat. Even when we are at rest our muscles will be using energy, thus burning calories. However, we know that it certainly isn’t enough to lose weight or all we would have to do is sleep. While muscle tissue burns calories, the opposite is true of fat tissue. Fat cells store calories. As you can see there is an intrinsic link between muscles and fat?

So what is the difference between muscles and fat and does it really matter in our efforts to lose weight? It’s simple. One uses calories and the other stores calories. More muscle means burning more fat, and therefore there are less calories to be stored in our fat cells. Since our muscles need energy, the more muscle tissue we have the faster our metabolism runs. The faster our metabolism runs the more calories we burn up. The more calories we burn off the more weight loss we achieve.

We should not make our efforts to achieve natural weight loss complicated because it does not half to be. If we look at this sort of physiological information it should help us to understand the intricacies of how to lose weight. So why not take time to learn how the body works and what will help you achieve sustained weight loss. This way you will know why it is necessary to exercise as part of your regime

How to Lose Weight

How to Lose Weight

Look around and I sure you will notice how many people are over weight. To some in the health care field it has become a national concern. How to lose weight has become a very important question for many people. So many serious health problems can develop from being over weight. However, many people seem to ignore the possible health risks and continue to do nothing about their weight.

There are so many simple things that one can do to help lose those excess pounds and to control their weight. The trend in our society has become one in which we take part in less and less physical activity. Let’s change the trend. Walk everywhere and lose weight. Is it possible to lose weight walking? Yes it is, walking is one of the best ways to burn calories from fat and lose weight. When running you burn more carbohydrates than fat. Reducing fat is the beginning of any program to lose weight.

How to lose weight can be answered with one simple statement. To lose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume. An easy way to do this is to walk everywhere you can. Walking though is what we do naturally. Modern day living tends to make us walk less and less. Instead we rely more and more on the car. You cannot stop progress but what you can do if you want to lose weight is actively look for opportunities to walk more.

Walking is the least expensive way of losing weight. All you need is a good pair of walking shoes and you are on your way. Just get out and walk. Walk to the corner store, walk up the stairs, park as far away from the supermarket or any shops entrance. Walk the dog around the neighborhood ( take your poop bag though, think of the environment and others) or if no dog just walk around the neighborhood; you will find that you will begin talking to strangers and become acquaintances – maybe friends over time.

If you have problems getting motivated why not join a walking group. If there are none in your area then start one. You’ll be surprised how many others are just waiting for some help in losing weight. Walk more on the weekend when you are not working, walk around the local park. Look for hills to walk up and down. Visit art galleries and museums, you can walk around these all day and learn something as well. To know how to lose weight you do not have to be a rocket scientist.

Walking may take longer in helping you do lose those extra pounds but it certainly is worth the time. The most important thing is to get active and be consistent. The possibilities to walk are endless. Instead of a coffee break take a walk break around the office or walk to the next floor or office. You can walk virtually anywhere and lose weight. Of course it is important to remember that it is necessary to eat a well balanced nutritious diet and to avoid the food that we know will cause us to gain weight. For most people how to lose weight is not the problem. It is getting active and starting on the path to weight loss and better health.

Healthy Weight Loss

I’m sure you have noticed just how many people are carrying around extra weight. This has become a very serious health issue and the problems will continue to grow unless people take their weight more seriously. There is no magic bullet when it comes to losing weight. Or should I say no magic pill…or exercise equipment…or diet! It just takes some common sense and some will power to achieve healthy weight loss.

When it come to weight, women seem to have a bit more difficulty at losing those extra pounds than men do. There could be several reasons for this. Women have more body fat throughout their lives as compared to men. After menopause, women generally gain weight. Research is still conflicting as to whether this is due solely to menopause or solely to age (because men also typically gain weight as they become older), or perhaps a combination of age and menopause. Our ability to maintain weight loss is hampered also with age. I myself feel this also may be caused by my creaky knees and legs, which makes long walks a bit more difficult.

It does not matter how much weight you have to lose, you still have to make certain changes in your life style. If you fail at making those changes you will fail at any healthy weight loss plan. Whether you are trying to lose 5 pounds or more than 50, the same simple laws of physics determine whether or not you will lose weight and how fast your weight loss will occur. Remembering these simple guidelines and putting them into practice can lead to weight loss without the aid of any special diet plans, books, or medications.

Healthy weight loss should be the goal of all who need to lose weight. We are in total control of our weight and how we approach this issue will determine how effective we are at losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight. As individuals, we regulate the amount of food we consume each day, so our intake of calories is something we can control. To a major degree, we can also control our output of energy, or the number of calories we burn each day. The number of calories we burn each day is dependent upon our basal metabolic rate (BMR), the number of calories we burn per hour simply by being alive and maintaining body functions and our level of physical activity.

There is no question that our work and leisure time play a significant role in our weight gains and losses. Lifestyle and work habits partially determine how many calories we need each day. Someone whose job involves heavy physical labor will naturally burn more calories in a day and have faster weight loss than someone who sits at a desk most of the day (a sedentary job). For people who do not have jobs that require intense physical activity, exercise or increased physical activity can increase the number of calories burned which will increase your natural weight loss.

We can all be successful in achieving healthy weight loss. All it takes is the personal determination and accepting the fact that we will more than likely develop health problems if we do not take this issue serious. As a rough estimate, an average woman 31-50 years of age who leads a sedentary lifestyle needs about 1,800 calories per day to maintain a normal weight. A man of the same age requires about 2,200 calories. Any amount of calories less than this number will usually result in weight loss. Participating in a moderate level of physical activity (exercising three to five days per week) requires about 200 additional calories per day. As you can see, weight loss is just a matter of taking in less calories than your body burns. I know this is the scientific explanation for weight loss, but somehow, I’ve never been able to see it as that simple.

How To Lose Weight

Knowing how to lose weight can be the single most important thing in anyones’s attempt to shed some of those unwanted pounds. Too often people go on some weight loss program because a friend of a friend said it was the best diet ever. They don’t even take the time to do some research. And with all the information available today, failing to do any kind of research can be a big mistake. At least speak to a doctor to get an educated opinion on what you are about to undertake.

Do you lose weight only to put it back on again time after time? Well it may help you to know that you are not alone in this. Basically your body has become confused. Originally your body had a set point, a weight that was the norm for you. With repeated weight loss followed by weight gain your body is constantly changing that set point until it is at a higher rate than you would like it to be. It can then be very difficult to attain the weight loss you so desire. Your body plateaus and any further weight loss seems like an impossibility. When this happens we often give up trying to lose weight out of frustration and behold our weight starts to increase yet again to unacceptable heights.

How to lose weight has almost become a science in itself. In fact, a whole industry has developed around the issue of weight loss. In order to re regulate your set point it is important to realize that you are going to have to be far more persistent in your approach to wanting to lose weight. One of the reasons you find it difficult to sustain your weight loss is because your adrenal glands have become exhausted. Very often when you have been on a weight loss diet month after month, perhaps not following the most sensible diet, maybe cutting calories or missing meals your body is constantly in a fight or flight state.

Many people do not fully understand what actually happens when the body loses weight. We lose more than just fat. More often than not people who have been on a weight loss diet will inevitably have lost some muscle as well as fat. As muscle burns energy this can be detrimental to your lose weight regime as a decreased muscle mass means a lower metabolic rate. This increases your chances of turning your “lose weight” regime into a “gain weight” regime. The weight loss industry is big business and it is not in their interest for you to lose weight forever. If everybody lost weight easily and permanently there would be no weight loss industry and many people would be out of a job.

For some reason many people do not fully understand the health issues that can arise if you do not know how to lose weight in a healthy manner. You also need to be aware that in attempting to lose weight you are improving your overall health. If we were to believe all we read in the media we could be forgiven for being totally confused by all the hype on diets and weight loss. Many diet gurus would have you believe that it is relatively easy to lose weight and some diet plans even suggest you can lose up to 11lb in 2 weeks. This will not be fat but a combination of fat, water and muscle.

Losing weight takes a lot of self discipline. When we stray from our weight loss plan, we sometimes feel so guilty that we just want to give up and quit. If we miss a meal or eat too many carbohydrates our bodies respond by elevating the stress hormones. If the body has elevated blood sugar levels, the response is to release insulin to lower the blood sugar. Insulin levels will remain high if the body is consistently under nourished with the wrong food combinations. Excess insulin along with inactivity can prevent weight loss due to the fact that inactive muscles become insulin resistant and more and more calories are stored in the fat cells. This can ultimately progress to situation where the body becomes insulin resistant.

Success in anything we do in life plays a very important role in our motivation to succeed. Learn how to lose weight and you will be on your way to success. If you are to succeed in your weight loss you need to be aware that there are various factors that help to determine how quickly and effectively you lose weight, one of which is turning fat into lean muscle. Very often this can result in an initial weight gain as you gain muscle (which weighs more than fat). Then as if by magic your body will start to experience weight loss that can often seem to be faster than normal. Of course a weight gain, when trying to lose weight fast, can be very disconcerting and many people give up mistakenly thinking that the diet isn’t working for them

Lose Weight Tips

Lose Weight Tips: Weight Loss for the Over 40’s

Why does it seem that the older we get the more difficulty we have in doing certain things. For one thing our bodies are slowing down and some things just become more difficult to achieve. For example, those of us who are over forty and want, or need, to lose some weight. The perils of getting old! As we age, maybe there are some lose weight tips that may make our efforts at least seem a bit less difficult to complete. Or so we would hope!

One of the effects of age on our bodies is the fact that our metabolism starts to slow down. It’s just one of those facts of life. If you are in the over 40’s age bracket, then you may be aware that your metabolism has started to slow down a little and your ability to sustain or lose weight has become more difficult. The older you get the more aware you will become of this happening to your body. As we get older the need to be concerned about keeping our metabolism fired up increases and ensures that weight loss doesn’t become an issue for us. As our bodies undergo the ravages of time, keeping that belly flat becomes even more important as we attempt to look and feel our best.

As we are all well aware, there are so many “weight loss plans” and hundreds of diets on the market today that it makes your head spin. We know only too well that diet alone isn’t enough for consistent and sustained weight loss. In addition to diet exercise is an vital part of the equation. However what a lot of people don’t realize is that only certain types of exercise will give them the desired results. If you want to develop a flat belly and a well defined six pack then you must follow the recommended protocols

How many lose weight tips suggest that you need to do all the right exercises in order to lose those unwanted pounds? Hundreds of crunches, leg lifts, and twists, may feel as though you are doing all the right things yet a six-pack is nowhere to be found. Sound familiar? If so, it’s time you got off the floor and on your feet again, because the only way you’re going to achieve the shape you want is to reduce your body fat. In fact you will not only be reducing your body fat but you will be turning it into lean muscle. Generally speaking, the men and women you see adorning the pages of fitness magazines have a body fat percentage of less than ten percent. And, as you can tell by looking at them, they definitely have ab muscles. The truth of the matter is – so do you; the only difference is you can’t see yours, because they’re hidden behind a layer of subcutaneous fat.

Changing our eating habits is one of the most difficult things to do as we attempt to lose weight, yet it is also one of the most important things we must do. In order to shed this fatty layer and expose your six-pack, stick to a well balanced diet. No simple sugars (that includes white flour products), eat plenty of good quality protein, and follow a cardio program that works for you. This means engaging in a high-intensity interval training workout, which has been shown to reduce fat at a rapid rate thus enhancing weight loss.

How important is some sort of weight or resistance training in your efforts to lose weight? Studies have proven that even a small amount of weight resistance training keeps our metabolism at a higher rate long after we have finished the training. As a result, we continue to burn calories even when we have finished our exercise regime. A weightlifting circuit routine is probably a good idea as this will have the effect of building lean muscle which in turn will help to raise your metabolism and burn fat. Follow this approach your ab muscles will be evident in no time. It is important to beware that even though your goal may be to lose weight you may find that your weight loss becomes a weight gain in the short term due to the fact that muscle weighs heavier than fat.

This is not one of those lose weight tips that only the younger generation will benefit from. It doesn’t matter how old you are, as long as you do not over exert yourself. Be sure to get some professional advice in how much and what type of resistance training you should do. Remember, it is thought that general health is improved in the elderly if they have a sensible fitness regime that incorporates weight training. It is also worth remembering that as our metabolism continues to slow down as we age, correct eating habits and appropriate fitness programs become even more important if we are to have sustained weight loss and are to enjoy full health and fitness as we approach our later years.

Remember age is only a problem if you allow it to be
