The weight loss industry is growing as more and more people are becoming aware of the seriousness of being over weight. And many of these people are looking for a system that will give them <A HREF="http://healthy-weight-loss-programs.net/11/fast-weight-loss-2/">fast weight loss</A>. However, this is not always the best option. We can all lose weight fast and we usually put that weight back on just as fast! People have to realize that what they need is a change in lifestyle.<br />
<P><br />
It is so important to make those changes in ones lifestyle that will result in losing weight as well as keeping it off. Failure to make the changes will ultimately result in the failure to keep the weight off. Once you get into the cycle of weight off &#8211; weight on, your body, not surprisingly, becomes confused. Once upon a time your body had a set point, a weight that was the norm for you. With repeated weight gain followed by weight loss followed by weight gain etc etc,  your body is constantly changing that set point until it is at a higher rate than you would like it to be. It can then be very difficult to attain the weight loss you so desire. Your body plateaus and any further weight loss seems like an impossibility. When this happens we often we get frustrated and disheartened and give up on the weight loss diet thinking it isn&#8217;t working. This inevitably results in our weight starting to increase once again to an unacceptable level.<br />

Your set point is very important in any weight loss plan. If you do not learn how to regulate this, it can lessen your chances of losing and maintaining any weight loss you achieve. So what can you do to re-regulate your set point? First and foremost, it is important to realize that you are going to have to be far more persistent in your approach to weight loss. One of the reasons you find it difficult to sustain your weight loss is because your adrenal glands have become exhausted. Very often when you have been on a weight loss diet  month after month, perhaps not following a well structured diet, maybe cutting calories or missing meals or eating too many carbohydrates, your body is constantly in a fight or flight state. This situation will inevitably leave you tired confusing your metabolism and encouraging it to turn to stimulants such as tea, coffee, and diet drinks as a pick me up to compensate for what may well have been an energy deficient diet. Unfortunately this just activates the sympathetic nervous system to release more stress hormones which in turn requires more stimulants and so the cycle goes on and weight loss becomes less and less likely. This vicious circle can be almost impossible to break without professional help.<br />

One thing there is no shortage of is weight loss plans. The market place is almost flooded with them. Some are excellent while others are nothing more than a way to waste your money. As muscle burns energy this will not help your weight loss regime as a decreased muscle mass means a lower metabolic rate. Yet another vicious cycle your body has to find a way to break. This increases your chances gaining weight rather than losing weight and so the yoyo effect continues.<br />

Most of us who want to lose weight actually need to lose weight. That is if we want to keep our health. Because of this fact weight loss is a serious issue for most of us. I&#8217;m sure you have noticed just how many people are carrying around extra weight. It just takes some common sense and some will power to achieve <A HREF="http://healthy-weight-loss-programs.com/10/healthy-weight-loss-3/">healthy weight loss</A>.<br />

When it come to weight, women seem to have a bit more difficulty at losing those extra pounds than men do. There could be several reasons for this. Women have more body fat throughout their lives as compared to men. After menopause, women generally gain weight. Research is still conflicting as to whether this is due solely to menopause or solely to age (because men also typically gain weight as they become older), or perhaps a combination of age and menopause. Our ability to maintain weight loss is hampered also with age. I myself feel this also may be caused by my creaky knees and legs, which makes long walks a bit more difficult.<br />

A man of the same age requires about 2,200 calories. Any amount of calories less than this number will usually result in weight loss. Participating in a moderate level of physical activity (exercising three to five days per week) requires about 200 additional calories per day. As you can see, weight loss is just a matter of taking in less calories than your body burns. I know this is the scientific explanation for weight loss, but somehow, I&#8217;ve never been able to see it as that simple.<br />

There are many different theories on how to lose weight. Some may even think that it is impossible to lose weight and maintain the loss you have achieved. A diet exclusive in processed foods will almost certainly lead to disease such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, allergies, emphysema, stomach ulcers, premature aging, impotence, hypoglycemia and arthritis. These countless diseases exist because chemically-synthesized substances disrupt the biochemistry of hundreds of billions of microscopic living cells which make up the body. Some of these diseases cause weight gain and is another reason to lose weight.<br />

The advances made by science with regards to the foods we eat has certainly had advantages. But at the same time there have been disadvantages to some of these advances. Our bodies are designed to eat natural, raw foods; there&#8217;s no doubt about that. Raw foods contain beneficial enzymes and nutrients that are destroyed through processing. To be realistic though, there&#8217;s no way we could all eat only raw foods, but it is recommended that we eat as many fresh fruits and vegetables as possible. Eliminating all processed food is probably not going to happen for most of us. And weight loss will probably not happen to all of us. Changing our diets after years of bad eating habits is not easy to achieve. The problem is many of us don&#8217;t take the matter seriously enough and want to achieve miracles.<br />

Past failures will undoubtedly take their toll, and the attitude that they are happy being overweight can become a cover up for an unhappy person who feels that they will never lose weight. The jolly fat person will convince themselves and the world that they are perfectly happy the way they are<br />

If you are serious about wanting to know <B>how to lose weight</B> it is worth making sure that you are properly organized before you begin. Here is a list of tips and hints that will help to ensure that you get off to a good start and give yourself the best chance to lose weight from the onset.<br />

Sadly enough, most people will not take it serious until it affects them directly. By this time it may be too late. Obesity is growing to epidemic proportions and more and more of our children are now deemed to be overweight. What is causing this epidemic and why, considering there is so much in the way of education, weight loss clubs, new dietary regimes, television programs, advise on healthy eating? But still the epidemic goes on and little success is being celebrated re reducing the number of obese and overweight individuals. Very few are able to lose weight and successfully maintain their weight loss<br />
<P><br />
If you are serious about losing weight then half of the battle is already won. Why? Because you are serious about it. At the end of the day if you really want to <A HREF="http://lose-weight-today.net/">lose weight </A>it can be done. One of the biggest concerns at the present time is that some overweight teenagers have severe liver damage caused by too much body fat. Health professionals have differing theories on how to deal with this growing concern, but most will agree that the best place to begin to combat this problem is early intervention. At the end of the day it is probably a combination of both, but in view of the fact that the home is where the habits begin in the formative years, the finger has to be pointed in that direction for the majority of the responsibility. If you can see, even in the early stages that your child needs to lose weight, then do something about it. Better still when your baby is born spend the first 6 months finding out about how to give your child a healthy diet, when he/she is ready to be weaned. There is plenty of helpful advice available, it is just a matter of seeking it out. If your child needs to lose weight then it is up to you to act quickly to ensure it doesn&#8217;t become a life long habit and a chronic life threatening condition. Take an active role in helping your child lose weight.<br />

With numerous experts and their varied opinions on how to lose weight, one can certainly become confused. There are so many questions being asked on the topic of weight loss. So what is the best way to lose weight? How can you lose weight fast? What are the latest diet tips? These kinds of questions are ever on the lips of those people who want to lose weight either for their health, or just to look good on the beach this summer.<br />

In reality, there are no easy answers or magic formulas to make you <B>lose weight</B>. None of the experts have yet come up with that magic wand, although some may lead you to believe they have. As most people can tell you, whatever diet you choose, there is going to be some deprivation, some sweat, and some plain old hard work if you want to achieve weight loss success. It is said that slimming diets are NOT the answer for permanent weight loss! Real success comes when you have learned a new way to eat.<br />

Our desire to <B>lose weight</B> and be healthier is so great that some of those promises of the latest miracle diet can be very tempting, but be on your guard and don&#8217;t part with you hard earned cash in exchange for a diet that at best won&#8217;t work, and at worst could harm you. You don&#8217;t have to pay a lot of money for a weight loss diet; to get started, why not try one of the many free online diets? That way, you can learn what works for you, and instead of losing money, you&#8217;ll lose your excess weight.<br />

To help yourself lose weight take some time and research the material available. Talk to others, ask questions and even speak to your doctor. There is an abundance of information on changing your eating habits. Instead of eating  3 big meals a day, try eating 5 smaller meals. I have also read cutting your portions down so you do not feel uncomfortable. If you eat in a restaurant, ask for a carry out container and save half your meal for the next day&#8217;s lunch. So, research on &#8220;how to eat&#8221; so you can be well informed with your efforts to properly lose weight.<br />

When people are trying to lose weight they are often very surprised when they are told by a friend that they look like they have added a few extra pounds. Not a nice thing to hear when you actually are trying to eat less. To help why not try eating more smaller meals throughout the day. Healthy snacking or if you prefer to call them &#8217;small meals&#8217; will make it easier to lose weight because the body needs regular fuel to speed up the metabolic process.<br />
<P><br />
You have to be sure that your smaller meals are just that: smaller. It is important to stress that &#8220;eat more&#8221; doesn&#8217;t mean eating very large meals that are laden with calories. Small nutritious meals more often is the key. If you are the sort of person who eats very large portions then this is one way for you to be successful with your effort to <B>lose weight</B>. Gradually start reducing the portions of the meals but at the same time increasing how often you eat. Five small meals a day is far better than three large meals<br />
<P><br />
Our bodies can digest smaller amounts of food more efficiently. Because there is less food to digest our bodies will digest quicker thus assimilating the nutrients more efficiently, giving ourselves more energy after the meal. Big meals make us sluggish and we fail to utilize a lot of the nutrition. For successful weight loss have some quick easy preplanned snacks. There are good selections of protein bars and health drinks, fresh fruit and keep fresh raw vegetables cleaned and cut up with a dip you like. Experiment with new foods, like a tofu dip with spices you like or maybe a hummous dip. If you have never tried it or didn&#8217;t use a good mix, find a new recipe and try again. Tofu is high in protein and has NO taste so it takes on the taste of whatever you add to it. It may take some getting use to but it is good in helping you <B>lose weight</B>.<br />
<P><br />
Another reason for eating smaller meals is the amount of fat taken into the body at each meal or snack. There is less potential energy in a small meal to be stored as fat. This of course gives you the opportunity to burn off excess fat and help you have a steady flow of weight loss.<br />
<P><br />
Eating smaller meals more often can sometimes be difficult because we are programmed to eat three times a day. And we also eat too many snacks in between. But with the concept of eating small meals and eating more often, you get triple benefits for your efforts. There will be fewer calories, increased metabolic rate and less chance of feeling bloated. You will lose weight.</p>

Your head will be spinning if you listen to all the experts when it comes to taking of those extra pounds. There is a lot of controversy about the correct way to <B>lose weight</B>. Everybody would have you believe that their way is the best way. If you are serious about losing weight the sensible way so that you sustain your weight loss for years to come then it is worth dispelling some of the myths that surround the weight loss industry and the fitness industry. If you see a diet saying you will <a href="http://howto-loseweight.com/">lose weight</a> in 7 days, the truth of the matter is, yes you may well lose weight in 7 days , but only 2lb of any weight lost will be fat. Any other weight lost during the 7 days will be either water, muscle or both.<br />
<P><br />
There are so many views on the best way to get our body back into a healthier condition. You will come across many thoughts and ideas about how to lose weight and some of them are distinctly unhealthy and will not only cause health problems but may also cause you to gain weight<br />
<P><br />
Here are some examples<br />
<P><br />
1. We all know that a fad is something that becomes very popular for a short time and usually goes away as quickly as it came. The same holds true for diets. A fad diet such as the Hollywood Cookie diet, juice fasting or the Grapefruit diet and follow it for a week. At best you will lose 5/6 lbs that will go straight back on the minute you return to normal eating, at worst you will feel really ill, possibly very light headed and/or headaches as your body tries to adjust to this unhealthy regime. Don&#8217;t try to <B>lose weight</B> this way<BR><br />
2. Exercise! Exercise! Exercise! If you are going to exercise make sure you know the ones you should be doing and the correct way to do them. Many of us make a daily visit to the gym doing  bench presses or dead lifting double your body weight followed by 100 abdominal crunches. We now know that abdominal crunches are not the way to creating a six pack and great care needs to be taken when under taking a fitness regime to ensure you are not doing your body more harm than good.<BR><br />
3. When it comes to eating we are also bombarded with many different theories on how, when and what we should eat. Eat no more than three times a day and do not eat after 6 p.m. Do not eat real food, focus on protein bars and pre-packaged foods. Eating smaller meals more often is now thought to be the way forward and protein bars are for emergencies only. Nothing can replace &#8220;real&#8221; food as this is what the body recognizes.<BR><br />
4. Another popular method for weight loss is to stop eating! Dramatically reduce your calorie intake. Low calorie diets are now thought to be dangerous and cause the body to go into adrenal stress. This will not help you to <a href="http://howto-loseweight.com/">lose weight</a> and may even cause you to gain weight.<BR><br />
5. Don&#8217;t forget to start your day off with a minimum amount of food to help you get through the morning. Do not eat breakfast. Have two cups of coffee and a low-fat muffin. High carbohydrate breakfast and stimulant drinks such as coffee will play havoc with your metabolism and give you a very bad start to the day whether you are on a weight loss diet or not. Also your low fat muffin may well contain hydrogenated fat which is very bad for your health.<BR><br />
6. Finally, to really help you lose those extra pounds why not fill yourself with diet pills? This is an absolute &#8220;no, no&#8221; Avoid at all costs.<br />

It is crucial to drink water before, during and after exercise to keep energy levels high and aid in recovery.<br />

* Water helps suppress your appetite: How many times have you felt hungry and grabbed for a snack? Your body often confuses the desire to eat with the need for water. People want to reach their target weight as quickly as possible, so that they can get back to normal. What many people don&#8217;t realize is that if you lose weight fast the chances are you will gain weight just as quickly when you have finished your diet. There are many diets available that promise the most amazing results. There is one diet called Fat Loss 4 Idiots, promises an amazing weight loss of 9lb over the 11days of the diet. What they don&#8217;t tell you is that that all of the 9lb will not be fat loss. It is only possible to lose 2lb of fat per week. The remainder of the weight loss will either be water or muscle.<br />
<P><br />
We are all aware of weight loss programs where you can lose weight quickly over a short period of time, but the end result is usually a quick re-gain of the weight once you stop the program. This is not a safe way to lose weight.<br />
But in order to successfully <A HREF="http://loseweight-secrets.com/">lose weight</A> fast you need to change your perception of the word fast in this context. A weight loss of 2lb per week on a regular basis would mean that you would lose approximately 16lb over a 2 month period.
